Celemony released one of the most anticipated plug-ins of all time this week. The latest version of their popular Melodyne Plug-in with DNA (Direct Note Access) technology allows remixers to change the exact note, or melody of virtually any sound- even chords.

In terms of mash-up or remix music, you can now fit any acapella to any instrumental, in perfect key. This opens up the world to limitless combinations. You can still adjust vocals to be perfectly on key, which older versions of the plug-in could do. You can also take any chords from a song, say a Jimi Hendrix guitar sample, and re-shape it to a new sample yet maintain the same color as the original. You can also pull a single monophonic note out of a chord, plug it in to a sampler, and have the Jimi Hendrix guitar instrument at your finger tips.
